While some of my sewing friends have these aggressive goals for sewing this year like making jeans, my focus is on plus size loungewear that fits my body and makes me feel beautiful. Yes, I have my fair share of leggings and t-shirts which is definitely part of my mom-uniform, but sometimes I just want to look pretty as I’m lounging around the house–I know I’m not the only one!
Plus Size Loungewear
Full Disclosure: I’m half naked most of the time that I’m home. Pants are rarely worn by anyone in the house and comfort is key. But who says that you have to sacrifice style for comfort? Not here we don’t!
I’ve never used Jalie Patterns but being plus size, not all designers have sizing that fits my hips. This is soooo frustrating when trying to make panties. Yes, I could grade out but I’d rather do less think work since I homeschool with three kids.
I chose the kimono style robe with the camisole and panties. Now I’m no stranger to making panties but this was my first time making any like this and guys, they are as comfortable as they are beautiful!!! These are high waisted briefs that don’t role down courtesy of this here FUPA.
The camisole is beautiful and everything I’ve been looking for in a camisole. I can’t wait to make another one out of fabric to wear out. And my kimono is pure perfection!
I mixed the nude power mesh with this black mesh fabric because I loved the contrast it created and I think it’s super sexy looking. I was thinking about doing all black but the nude just added a perfect elemental pop to me and I went with it. I ordered a bunch of this lacy elastic from Boho Fabrics when it was on sale and it made for perfect detail on both the camisole and the panties.
Ankara print is some of my fave. I wanted something bold for my kimono and I fully committed with this print here. Plus, it’s Black History Month so why not?
